Merry Christmas!

Would you like a quick easy resource for a Biblical Christmas?

I admit, I'm not a lot of fun this time of year.

Christmas is not very Christian, so it doesn't do much for me.

We have a lot of nice traditions and spend good times together and there are some positive aspects to it, but Christmas in the USA today just doesn't seem right to me.

December 25th is not when Christ was born....It was most likely in the spring when sheep were giving birth (that is the time shepherds would stay in the fields keeping watch over their sheep by night)  The church basicly usurped a pagan festival and tried to make it "christian".  So you kind of lose me right there.

Next is the way we cling to dates, traditions, objects and relics in the "church".  Man was never meant to cling to these things, but to cling to God's promises by faith.

Would Christ want us to focus on celebrating His birth other than clinging to the truth that God has sent His Son into this world to be the Lamb of God that takes away our sin?  Cling to the promise of God.  Our Salvation has come!

Trees, presents, Santa, parties....I'm not saying that these things are not ok to enjoy and have fun with, I'm just saying they have nothing to do with what happened some 2,000 years ago (and probably in the spring).

Please don't cling to these things.  Cling to the work that God has done this Christmas:

Jhn 3:13  "No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.
Jhn 3:14  "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
Jhn 3:15  so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
Jhn 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Jhn 3:17  "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
Jhn 3:18  "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jhn 3:19  "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
Jhn 3:20  "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Jhn 3:21  "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

The question is this:  Have you received the gift of eternal life by the forgiveness of sins Christ's death purchased?  Is the Savior the Lord of your life?

Or will you make another way?

Eph 2:8  For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, {it is} the gift of God;
Eph 2:9  not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Eph 2:10  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

There is no other way to heaven.  There is no true peace in this life nor the next unless you have believed the promise of GOd.  You and I are sinners.  We can not be good enough to get to heaven.  Romans says the wages of sin is death.  Christ died my death and rose again and crushed death for all who will believe in Him.

That is why I am having a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How Did This Become This?

Tonight I had the kids all sit down with me and watch the Gospel of John. It's a movie that is the Gospel of John word for word. I wanted them to see it hoping the visual would help them understand it better.

As we are watching it, I see Jesus on the TV on my right and to the left I see our Christmas tree and presents and stockings.....I just wondered "How did this (Jesus face on the screen) become this (the tree and presents)?"

It is sad.

The USA has taken Christ out of Christmas. I am ashamed I feel obligated to play along with the secular christmas.

Tonight was wonderful! I think of John chapter 3 and John 14:6 and John 19:30 and thank GOD for what He has done.

I am not only sad about the secular christmas, but also how many places the church has gone sooo wrong. (John chapter 6 for example) It is a huge problem that robs Christ's glory and totally misses what He did for us. So many ways we must let go of the physical things and traditions of the church so we can return to the pure and true faith that clings to the promises of God and not the things of man.

Ephesians 2:8-10 Lord burn in our hearts and bring us to pure and true faith!

In Christ's name, amen

God is teaching me a VERY important thing

OK...Let me restate some simple basics. The Bible teaches anything we know about God is because the Holy Spirit has shown it to us. John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." The Scriptures are living and active and powerful. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. So the scriptures are used by the Holy Spirit to work change in your life.

Well lately I have really been convinced of a very important truth.

My life depends more on God than it does on me. What do I mean by that?

Well who is the One who knows me and saved me from my sin? God.
Who is the One who keeps me and will carry me in His hand to perfection in heaven? God
Who is my shepherd who leads me? God

Look at the Apostle Paul's conclusion in Romans 8:
Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God {is} for us, who {is} against us?

Rom 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You see the issue for me is this: Phil 1:6 {For I am} confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Now for the believer there is a real struggle that goes on internally. A struggle with sin. Again Paul describes it so well again in Romans (Chapter 7)

Rom 7:14-25 For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin. What I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I {would} like to {do,} but I am doing the very thing I hate. But if I do the very thing I do not want {to do,} I agree with the Law, {confessing} that the Law is good. So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good {is} not. For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.

I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

Wow, there is a lot there. But see the difference between the flesh in which "nothing good dwells in me". Here will be the first argument. Most refuse to admit that about themselves. We have no CLUE how true that statement is. The human mind can not comprehend the just HOW true that statement is. It's not just THAT you sin, but you ARE sin at your very core. Again I know how hard of a job I have to try to convince you that is true. I can't. Only the Holy Spirit can show you the depth of your sin. Paul again in Romans says "Rom 3:10-12,18 "as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." AND THE PATH OF PEACE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN." v18 "THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES."

Did you see that "There is NONE who does good, there is not even one."

Well...How do you feel about that? Is the Bible wrong? Will your pride cause you to hold your opinion over the inspired Word of God?

I believe it. I am so wicked that I don't even know what evil God restrains me from. Even the sin in my life the Holy Spirit does show me is enough to drop me to my knees in need of mercy. I guess we need to know God to understand what "holy" is before we can see how "unholy" we are.

My point is this. Not only am I a sinner, I can't do anything about it. Christian churches will tell you to work at your sin and try harder. But it is the Holy Spirit who does the work in us. The Holy Spirit will cause the change in our hearts and actions. All I can do is pray! I am not saying that I dodge responsibility for my actions. I accept full responsibility. I am the one who chooses to sin. What I can't accept any credit for is when I don't sin. It's only because God carries me in His hand that I know He will change me. Because I know the character of God like we see in the end of Romans chapter 8 that I KNOW Christ has died for me, given me the faith to believe it and that He will never let anything snatch me from His hand.

If He has done all the work, and is doing all the work apart from anything I bring to the table.... What's the implication?

Well... There are really only two things for me to learn in life. Each days circumstances will either be God teaching me about Himself or God will be revealing to me who I really am and what I really think. That's it. It is a very personal relationship with God. Absolutely everything revolves around God and what He is teaching me through the Holy Spirit as He carries me towards the day He will bring me home into His presence.

My flesh will keep battling because of the Holy Spirit He has placed in me. My flesh is desperately wicked and I must overwhelm it with the things of God. I must pour so much scripture into my mind and seek the Holy Spirit so earnestly that my wicked sin is over-run with the goodness of God.

I do this with hard work in the flesh, but a real calm spirit. I KNOW the One who carries me. I know the One who has made the promises. I KNOW the One who died to pay the penalty for my sin.

I am HIS child by adoption....Not because I deserve it or have earned it, quite the opposite,. but simply because I am the target of His love and affection.

He loves YOU too and wants to carry YOU in the palm of His hand where no one can touch you without His allowing it for His glory. Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

Welcome to December!

Well just a quick update... I have been so busy lately. It's that time of year for us. I have been taking life day by day and waiting to see what the Lord has for me for each day. I have been learning so much, I just don't know where to start.

I have been keeping in touch with Stanley now back in Liberia. He is still having a hard time. Edward who is still in Ghana and needs to get home soon....I am no help to him, but we enjoy each others conversation. Samuel in India of course is the focus of my international efforts.

I am just working to know God. It is work too! How can our finite minds understand an infinite God. We can't fully, but we can know Him just as He has revealed Himself to us in scripture.

Everything keeps coming back to two things....Knowing God and Knowing the Scriptures.

Know the scriptures and you will know God. Know God and life really falls into place. I'm not saying things are perfect buy you have a lot less "why" questions. You live in all circumstances with joy because you know the One behind the events of the day.

Here I am 6 1/2 years in and I feel like a baby just getting started.

My only advice right now is to pray....then read the Bible...the pray about what you read...then pray some more while you think about what you read, and then go read some more. Old Testament first and then the New Testament... You can do it!

See the character and Holiness of God in the OT and then learn of His mercy and love for you in the NT.

You can't read just one and have a complete picture of who God is. They are inseparably tied to one another.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

By the way I post on Facebook several times a day as I live my life openly. Search for JasonYounger.com on Facebook and add me.

Love you.... Bye

Pray for Prahbudas Please

Prahbudas is one of our key people at Emma's school in Guntur, India.

His family has been upset with him for years for giving his life to serve God.

Please read this letter from Samuel and then see the pictures of him at the bottom.

I LOVE Prahbudas and wish I could be as faithful as him! Please pray for his situation.

Bro Jason, let me share with you about Prabhudass,
He has been facing some mental stress from his family. He was sick
for a couple of months ago.. most of his medical expenses are given by
us. His parents never bothered about him. Now, on Nov 9th, his only
younger brother got married.
Prabhudas has only one younger sister and only one younger brother.
His sister got married last year and now she is pregnent.
For his only younger brother's wedding, his parents did not buy him
new cloths. Wedding was conducted in Donakonda( 5 hours drive from
Guntur).. He does not have money to buy some new dress.
On Nov 7th, I gave him 1500 rupees and with that he bought a T Shirt
and a Blue Zeans and went to his brother's wedding.
HOw sad it was..?
His parents are not treating him properly.I understood that because
he is not working and making money, his parents are angry.. What to
do..?

Well.. I just spoke to him saying that let your family know that you
have comitted your life to God and they cant look at you for your
money.I told him that may he stand firm in serving God. Deepa says to
me that let Prabhudas do some work..
Bro Jason, India is not like USA. Our policies are different at
jobs place..
Once we join, we must be there from morning till night and even on
sunday
's we will be called for work.. Besides, payment will be monthly
once ( 1st week).
Less salaries and more work..

Ohhh, we need God's guidance for his life.
Now, he is able to do more at Emma's home and church activities..
So, pray for him more.
his mental stress effecting his physical body.
Iam here trying to encourage him in the Lord and I still try.

Bro, Iam attaching his brothers wedding pics 2, one is Prabhudass in
his blue T Shirt and he is standing before sheep in another pic.......

And in my case, last week, Deepa was sick( Throat Infection). She took
leave oneday..
And from sunday evening onwards, iam suffering from fever and I feel cold..
Ofcourse, weather is changed now..
Today, iam feeling better.
Oh iam attaching one street Gospel Meeting pic.. you can see those

Joy in Difficulty and Peace in Life

Last night my wife couldn't breathe and I had to take her to the ER. It made me think...what in the world would I do if something happened to her! Recently I had a Blue Cross Blue Shield Vacation (short hospital stay). My wife for the first time was faced with the thought of what would happen if something happened to me.

We of course come to the same conclusion. We simply trust God with all things.

If you know that God is over all, and knows you intimately and cares for His children, then what is there to worry about? He is good and carries us along according to His plan.

I have joy in difficulty because when I am faced with trouble, that is when God pulls me closer and seems to use those troubles to purify my heart. I want to have a pure heart, so I am happy to go through the trials.

While I go through trouble, He also fills me with a deep sense of calm and peace. I am never more peaceful than while going through trials.

When life is "normal" I carry on through life very focused on me and what makes me happy and what goals I would like to pursue.

But in trouble my mind is more focused on Christ and trusting more.

Over the last 15 years I have studied life and have found that we as people give God little thought. We may give Him lip service, but we don't pursue Him and spend little time trying to KNOW Him. We just float along through life like a dead fish floating down a stream.

Let me encourage you (and remind myself) to LIVE life....pursue the One who is good. Seek the LORD with all your heart. Pick up your Bible. Read it, know it and you will know HIM. TRUE peace comes when you realize life depends more on GOD than it does you.... Isn't that comforting to know?

A Quick Side Note.....

Just a quick pause. Tonight I realized how important a proper understanding of sin is. Specifically Romans 5:12. Any thoughts on the verse? Are we sinners because Adam sinned? Or would you say that we are sinners because you sin? Kind of a chicken or the egg type question. Are you a sinner because you sin? Or do you sin because you are a sinner? Read the passage and share any thoughts.... See how it is relevant to our last verses in Col. 1:19-23?

Colossians 1:19-23

Same as last time. I'll make a few comments in blue. Focus on God's Word more than my comments though.

Col 1:19 For it was the {Father's} good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,
Col 1:20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, {I say,} whether things on earth or things in heaven.
Col 1:21 ¶ And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, {engaged} in evil deeds,
Col 1:22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach--
Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

Colossians Chapter 1:19-23

I am not quite ready to post the next section of text yet. I am still praying about it before I post it. I hope you will read ahead and study it early. The content of these 5 verses is like spiritual dynamite. We see Apostle Paul speak of being "Reconciled to God by Christ" As you read it, just study the 5 verses. Read it several times. What does it say? Try to be true to the text and watch out for our presuppositions and religious grid we filter things through.

Colossians Chapter 1 - కలోస్సిఅంస్ చాప్టర్ 1

OK here's chapter 1.... I'll make red marks and bold and underline things I think are important. I will make some comments in blue (parenthasis) Then feel free to comment.

Col 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
(are you a follower of Christ? If so, by your own will or by the will of God?)

Col 1:2 ¶ To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ {who are} at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
(Paul is referring to the believers as saints. If you are a one of the faithful brethren in Christ, does that make you a saint?)

Col 1:3 ¶ We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Col 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints;
(Faith and love was obviously not a quiet internal but one that takes action!)
Col 1:5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel (Paul gives thanks BECAUSE they heard, belived, now have hope and act on that faith)
Col 1:6 which has come to you (the gospel), just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as {it has been doing} in you also since the day you heard {of it} and understood the grace of God in truth; (Interesting what he says here. They heard the Gospel and it is constantly bearing fruit since the day you heard and understood the Grace of God. Grace is defined as receiving something you don't deserve. To see what it means to bear fruit read Galatians chapter 5)

Col 1:7 just as you learned {it} from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf,
Col 1:8 and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.
Col 1:9 ¶ For this reason also, since the day we heard {of it,} we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, (If you want spiritual wisdom and understanding you must pray because it comes from God's Holy Spirit)
Col 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please {Him} in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (1. To please Him 2. to bear good fruit 3. to increase in the knowledge of God)
Col 1:11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously
Col 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. (Who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints? God the Father. How has he qualified us? In His grace and mercy offered up His Son for us. What is the inheritance? God Himself in eternity in heaven. What does qualified us mean? The word is "hikanoo" it means to make sufficient, render fit. God has rendered us fit for heaven. Past tense. How? His Son died for us. Does scripture add anything to that here?)
Col 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
Col 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Before the Gospel came to them, these people, including the "Super Jew" Paul were in the domain of darkness.)

Col 1:15 ¶ He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Col 1:16 For by Him (Jesus) all things were created, {both} in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. (Woaa now...thrones, dominions, rulers and authorities. All government and world leaders are placed by Christ for His own purposes. We should obey them unless they ask us to sin against God.)
Col 1:17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (You have to see this laminin video)

That enough for today? I'll wait a few days for you to read and comment before going into the rest of Chapter 1. We are being VERY shallow here and just barely skimming the surface, but that's about all I'm capable of without using too much time and brain power. This is just kind of an obervation exercise I make while I am reading. 1) What does that say and mean. 2) What's the implication of what to my life before God's eyes.

Latest Letter I need your feedback

Letters in Grace
October 6, 2008

I know I have been very quiet lately. It's been a long time since I have written a letter. Samuel asked me about it the other day. I have been very withdrawn lately in this sense. My life's focus has been on my own personal spiritual life before God. I have been figuring out my life. How to balance rest, health, work, family and fun. How much should be spent on self-pleasures and how much in self-sacrifice. I am growing and learning. I have also been in my systematic theology class. Now I am taking a Seminary level Theology 1 class. So I have been busy. Always remember though that head knowledge of God's Word without living it from the heart is useless.

Cole (my oldest son) is studying Colossians right now. So I thought I would study it too.

I will be very honest and up front about this. I don't want to “teach” you anything.

Let me just offer you God's Word and let you simply read it and study it and ask yourself, “What does this say?” and understand the impact of what you have read.

Colossians is just 4 short chapters. You can read it at one sitting.

Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the Church from prison.

Several important keys are found in Colossians. Look for the deity of Christ (1:15-20 and 2:2-10) reconciliation (1:20-23), redemption (1:13,14 and 2:13-14), election (3:12), forgiveness (3:13), nature of the Church (1:18,24-25, 2:19, 3:11,15)

Now please go read it and then come back to this discussion forum. I am asking you to just make some observations about the text. What do you see? What has caught your eye? Let's just read and discuss. If we stick to the text there is no reason anyone should feel like they can't be a part of the discussion.

I know no one cares what I think and they are tired of hearing from me.... So I offer up to you God's Word and this page to freely discuss as a family and friends.

Again I am not looking for questions about the text, but rather I am wanting you to post observations you make about the text. Any discussion not directly related to the text is not appropriate in this specific post.

Love you and I hope you enjoy what you read in Colossians!

Stanley Yeahwon makes it home!

Finally after months of planning and waiting on the United Nations, Stanley made it home to Monrovia Liberia!

When he was 10 his parents were shot and killed during the civil war. The UN moved him to a temporary refugee camp near Accra, Ghana. That is where I met him. Now over 10 years later, he is home!

I have known Stanley for almost 3 years I guess, talking several times a week. It has been such a hard time for him in a camp with no clean water, no bathrooms, no real house to sleep in, just a shack. In a refugee camp there are no jobs, no career path, no education....so it has been very hard surviving. Along the way he had malaria twice I think. A man who came from Accra to stay with them stole a flash drive from someone in the camp. Because Stanley was with him, he was jailed for the offense and kept in HORRIBLE conditions until restitution was made.

We talk a lot about the Lord and he has shown me what it means to completely trust HIM for everything. Give us this day our daily bread is a reality to him!

I also see how we are the same. His temptation is to trust in himself to find a way to survive in the same way I trust in myself to make more or have more. I thought that was interesting.

Right now he is not in a good part of the city of Monrovia. He is in the Red Light district. Here is a video of a ride through the district I found on YouTube. Just a good visual of what he is now facing with no place to sleep and no money in a new country.

So our goal is to get him around some Christians, find a job and a room to live in. (A room is $25 a month, only catch is you have to pay a year up front...It's a sellers market right now with the flood of refugees)

Did you know rubber is one of Liberia's largest export? Firestone has a big plant there in Monrovia.

I'll keep you updated on the progress....

_____________________________________________________________

Here's Stanley's story he wrote for me a few years back.

Stanley Yeahwon is my name, I am a Liberian born in the north west of Africa coast. descended into a civil war that spanned over a decade and drove hundreds of thousands of refugee to neighboring countries.

One afternoon why my parent and I was home, rebel broke into our homes and suspected my parents of being employed by the ruling government at the start of the war. Both my parents were forced into a truck at gun point as I watched. When the truck disappeared from sight over a nearby hill, I heard two gunshots ring out. That was how I came running out of the house and left for a refugee camp in shortly afterwards. Since then I have not heard about the wherabouts of my brothers and sister.

Unfortunately, life on the camp isn’t mush better.

Original having been designed for a population of 5000, it currently houses approximately 60,000 people. Presently on the camp, there is no help been giving to refugee here and that has place most refugee in such a position were in a dark cloud has been place over their future.

Educations
Due to the above mention, I am kindly asking for help so that I can be able to cater to my education and also be able to help my dear country.

Because in time like these my country (Liberia) needs educated people who will pledge their service in helping our country stands on it own cause as you all may know, education place a vital road in one life and it is also the key to success…………………

With the above mention, I am kindly asking that the almighty God will speak to the hart of a loving person so that I can be bless.

Pursuit of Wisdom Brings Security

Proverbs 2:1-10

Still want wisdom? Here's what you must do:

Prov 2:1 My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you,
Prov 2:2 Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;
Prov 2:3 For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding;
Prov 2:4 If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Prov 2:5 Then you will discern the fear of the LORD And discover the knowledge of God.

If you do that, then God will do this:

Prov 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth {come} knowledge and understanding.
Prov 2:7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; {He is} a shield to those who walk in integrity,
Prov 2:8 Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones.

The result of your seeking and His giving:

Prov 2:9 Then you will discern righteousness and justice And equity {and} every good course.
Prov 2:10 For wisdom will enter your heart And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

Proverbs 1:20-33 (Wisdom)

Prov 1:20 ¶ Wisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square;
Prov 1:21 At the head of the noisy {streets} she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
Prov 1:22 "How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?
Prov 1:23 "Turn to my reproof, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
Prov 1:24 "Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention;
Prov 1:25 And you neglected all my counsel And did not want my reproof;
Prov 1:26 I will also laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes,
Prov 1:27 When your dread comes like a storm And your calamity comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.
Prov 1:28 "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently but they will not find me,
Prov 1:29 Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD.
Prov 1:30 "They would not accept my counsel, They spurned all my reproof.
Prov 1:31 "So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way And be satiated with their own devices.
Prov 1:32 "For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.
Prov 1:33 "But he who listens to me shall live securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil."

Bringing it all together

Well I am at that point in my life where everything is starting to blend together. I mean it was before, but I still had separate compartments for everything. Faith, work, home, desires, goals.... Now it is slowly all coming under the leadership of the Lord. He took me through some things, and showed me myself. He showed me others. He has shown me what I deserve and what I don't deserve. Now as He leads me it is now all coming back together as one. It's all about my heart and motivation for every thing I do. I am very excited to spend time in proverbs. Tonight I stop at Prov. 1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I don't need to teach you anything. Just read it. If you don't fear the LORD it's because you don't fully understand who He is. Even though you love Him and He may love you. There is PLENTY to fear! A mighty and powerful God who is wonderful, eternal, and HOLY.

Next if you have no desire to learn and grow, you are a fool. Just like when I get prideful, I despise anyone trying to teach me anything. What a stupid thing for me to do. Let's learn and grow each day.

Have you even known when someone is praying for you? Like right now. I don't know for sure, but 95% odds my dear friend is praying for me. He never tells me when he is praying for me, but I can always tell. He is a faithful man of God and I KNOW God hears his prayers. Another friend of mine far away is also praying for me as I am praying for him. May God hear OUR prayers and strengthen us where we are weak.

YOU MUST WATCH THIS!

I am a Biological Sciences Geek So I LOVE this. Please Please watch it...

His Promise IS ALL I need

Please pray for Jena and Jill (my twin sisters) they both have pregnancies that could be tricky.

Also, I have been feeling OK, not perfect, but OK.... I have been able to tell something is still not right.

Well today things are acting up again and I am having some pretty moderate pain again and I am pretty useless..... Just a lot of lying around. Activity seems to aggravate things. I'll more than likely go back to the doctor tomorrow.

I just want an empty stomach and broth....anything else makes me hurt.

I got back on the antibiotics today.

They prayer is not necessarily for comfort, (if I was comfortable I wouldn't go get this problem taken care of) Just pray for a conclusion to the problem. Also I know that God is 100% involved in the situation and He is using this to teach me. Pray that I would have the right frame of mind to be examining my heart and how God is using this event to grow me spiritually.

Remember there is NOTHING God is not actively involved in. When evil people come upon you to attack you, He has allowed it for His purposes. Nothing slips past the permissive will of God. When a sickness falls upon your body, it's because we live in a cursed world where bodies get sick and break down.....BUT He knew it was coming and it is part of His perfect will and plan. He will use it.

Remember our God is a God of LOVE. He does not ever want to see you hurt. He never wants to see you in pain. Mankind's troubles we bring upon ourselves most of the time. Other times its the general effects of a cursed earth from the original sin of Adam and Eve.

Did you know God does not take any pleasure in sending wicked people to hell? The only satisfaction is the satisfaction that his Holy and Perfect Justice demands. He calls you with open arms! He cries out "Come to me all of you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest!"

Where does life find you today? In your stubbornness and pride are you still puffing up your chest and turning a proud and stiff jaw away from Him like a stubborn child who refuses any other way but their own.

These are the foolish ones who will fall into the eternal pit of destruction.

Maybe you have been humbled and on your face have admitted, "Lord I have nothing else I can trust in! Only You could save a sinner like me! My sin has crushed me.... If You were to give me what I deserve today I would be in desperate trouble! I thank You Lord with all my soul that YOU have died my death! That YOU Lord Jesus who was completely innocent died this criminals death. Why would Such A HOLY God die for a wicked heart like mine? Ahhh Yes, because YOU LOVE ME! What else on earth do I need to do or hear? YOU my GOD, my FATHER, who knew me from eternity past....YOU who know me eons from now....YOU who know me and LOVE me this very minute! What else do I need?

I do not need religion, I do not need religious activities....I don't fake piety in front of others....I don't do things because anyone has compelled me to do so..... I don't give money because I think it earns me any favor.... LORD I NEED NOTHING EXCEPT TO KNOW YOU LOVE ME AND YOU HAVE DIED FOR MY SINS.......

Father.... Knowing YOU I know that it is unthinkable that any promise of Yours would fail.....

You have promised my sins in their entirety are paid for by Your death on the cross around 2,000 years ago.

You have promised You will be with me until the end of the age

You have promised I will be with You in heaven.

You have promised I can not slip from Your loving grip.

I live and die on THESE promises Lord. YOU LOVE ME and have DIED for me.... I will never taste death! That is all I need to KNOW. Now Lord help me base every one of my life's activities around these promises You have made to ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE YOUR PROMISES

sent for work..

But who will stop these kids.? Parents send them for money..
When they go for work...they leave at 8 am and come back at 6 pm..
Please Pray for them... I am praying and planning to have VBS Camp for
them sometime in May ..may be during 1st or second week..Pray that
the Lord would be gracious to have this Program for them.. we have
32 kids right now and at our church, we have 50 odd kids..so, we
try to bring all the kids to our constructed church and have these
camp for 5 days..

Pray for the Program and also for the Financial Help for this
Program It is quite expensive ...even VBS books and
materials..We must give them Lunch also.We need to pay to the
Teachers too...Pray for God's leading......

Brother Jason , we love your family and all....

We are feeling very hot during day time and by the Grace of God,
we feel cold during nights.. Its a wonder for us..Cool breeze , we
get during nights.. Strange.......!

I have firm determination to buy one Cooler......but it would cost
11000 Indian Rupees..
I cant effort it.. But I desire for it..Its a needful thing..We sweat
more during day time.. Horrible heat and we are just 60 kms away from
sea shore..so, we can understand about the humidity.............lol

Sorry for making you bore with our things..
As far as church work, its tentatively stopped.. NO money,
sooooooooooo NO work at the church..
Any way, thank God for you and for all your Prayers.. We do pray for
you and may the Lord bless you more,

Biblical Parenting

A lot of good stuff I have been learning but just some little things I would like to share.

You know parenting these days is so goofy and certainly not biblical. Parent's are so worried about the child's psyche and self-esteem and being friends with them that they give a young child too many freedoms.

Think of an upside down funnel. Very wide at a young age with little restrictions or rules, the child has way too many freedoms. As the child becomes a teen the parents are frustrated with the way they are turning out, so they get very strict and try to control them. Like the narrow end of a funnel the teen is often choked and rebells and the train wreck ensues. There is a battle for control that the parent has lost years ago.

The biblical model turns the funnel the other way around. More control of a young child teaching them obedience and as they grow and mature they get more freedoms until they become their own person.

This is a very general guideline, but let me share the phases of biblical parenting.

The discipline phase happens from birth to age 5 or so. They don't understand moral reasons behind why things should be done, but we teach them obedience to protect them from harm and to teach them proper outward behavior.

Next the Training phase from around ages 6-12. We begin to direct their course giving the moral reasons for why we should obey. Here we start to work on the heart issue of why we obey. We now give reasons why and instruct them in the ways of living a proper life in the Lord's eyes.

Then the coaching phase from ages 13-19 years. They now begin to live more independently and you allow them to fail and help correct them, instruct them and cheer them on and discipline as needed but it's more about their heart and their thought processes for how and why we obey God and how we live a practical everyday Christian life.

Finally the friendship phase. The end result is a sweet relationship with a child that loves and respects you and you love and respect them. Ultimately two adults who have had hearts changed by Christ living for Him and enjoy life in His service together.

I strongly recommend Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp

There is SO much here I don't know how I could possibly share all the great stuff I have learned over the last few years, but I will try my best to pass along some of the highlights.

Here's the bottom line. You must have a heart converted by Christ by repentance and trusting in His death for your sins. You must FIRST live the life yourself. Then from a life of walking "in the Spirit" as apostle Paul says, you will guide and teach your children in the way you are walking. They will learn from your life and patterns. You can't say one thing and live another before them. They are no fools....then they just learn to be hypocrites. Little pharisees who only obey outwardly around other people....that's not good. The goal is to win your child's sinful heart over to Christ. We want them to live a proper life of faith.

If you have some questions, pass them along....I'm no expert but just like everything else here, I only am sharing what I am learning.

Love you and have a great day!

Letters In Grace 4/14/08

Glad to be back with you! I just wanted to share some information I have been studying in my theology class. We are in a section of satanology. Who is he, how does he work....etcetera.

As important as it is to know God and how HE works, I think we need to know and understand our enemy. Satan is a real, created being. He was once God's most powerful angel named "Lucifer" meaning "beautiful".

He was filled with pride and wanted to become like God and fell from grace and took 1/3 of the angels with him in rebellion.

Just as God has angels and man to serve Him, satan also desires to have angels and man to serve him.

He's not the red devil with a pitch fork, as the popular image we have had burned in our minds suggests. He is "beautiful" and he is the master of lies.

So we will look at satan's work in relation to God, in relation to the nations, and in relation to the unsaved. Later we will look at his relation to the saved.

First in relation to God:
Satan is active and preoccupied with the task of imitating and counterfeiting God's work.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
2Cr 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Cr 11:14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
You see some are influenced to present "another gospel" Oh, they seem religious and they use the name Jesus. That is not their concern. A counterfeit bill looks like the original right? Very subtle twists lead the unsuspecting into hell. It says satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

He looks like an angel, not a devil! Beware!

Revelation 2:9,13,24
Rev 2:9 'I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
Rev 2:13 'I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Rev 2:24 'But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep things of Satan, as they call them--I place no other burden on you.

See just as there are deep things of God we don't know, there are deep things of satan we do not know. Is ignorance bliss? Ask a sheep when a wolf in in the flock.

Next we see satan's work in relation to nations. Of course nothing happens outside the permission of God, so understand that God restrains satan and also allows his evil to take place for a time. It will ultimately be to God's glory.

Satan is the power behind many world rulers and government leaders. He deceives the nations the scriptures say.

Daniel 10 also Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14

Look at Luke 4:5-6
Luk 4:5 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
Luk 4:6 And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
How could satan offer to give Christ all the earth's domain if he did not possess it? Who gave it over to satan? Adam and Even when they obeyed satan and not God. They handed the dominion of the earth over to satan.

Satan is called the prince of the power of the air. He is the power working in this world (but only to the extent God allows)

Mat 4:8 Again, the devil *took Him to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
Mat 4:9 and he said to Him, "All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me."

Again here scripture mentions how satan deceives the nations
Rev 20:3 and he threw him into the abyss, and shut {it} and sealed {it} over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

How about in relation to the unsaved?

Satan's ministry in this area is to blind the minds of the unsaved so they can't understand or receive the truth of the Gospel.

2Cr 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
2Cr 4:4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

How does satan blind people?

2Cr 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Cr 11:14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

He uses false apostles, he uses deceitful workers, people who claim to belong to Christ. Beware! Are you watching for the enemy from within?

In the parable of the soils it talks about how people hear the Gospel but satan comes and snatches it away from them.
Luk 8:12 "Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.

What is keeping you from trusting Christ alone and never lifting up the work of a church or a man or anyone or anything other than Christ's death for your sins?

Act 13:6 When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a magician, a Jewish false prophet whose name was Bar-Jesus,
Act 13:7 who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.
Act 13:8 But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) was opposing them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
Act 13:9 But Saul, who was also {known as} Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him,
Act 13:10 and said, "You who are full of all deceit and fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to make crooked the straight ways of the Lord?

False teachers distorting the way and leading people astray!

Make no mistake, satan desires to use men to distort the pure faith and turn it into religion. Religion feels good and sounds right, but will not save you from the hell earned by our sins. Christ has already purchased your soul from hell with His blood, you need no act, no work, no sacrament to save. No church, no man, no ritual, no prayers, no water....you need to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ for the complete forgiveness of your sins.

2Ti 2:25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
2Ti 2:26 and they may come to their senses {and escape} from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

I will make no more argument of my own. I stand on God's word. Please study it, and examine you heart. Ask God for wisdom. Beware of possible devilish schemes around you. How will you know what is true? The Bible is true, know it and you will know fraud. Pray for wisdom. May the Holy Spirit fill you and give you the answers you seek.

God bless.

Well I'm Back in the Game-Lifeology

The last few weeks have been so eventful. So many things I have wanted to blog about but just couldn't get to a computer. Now it's gone... But just something that I got to talk to Cole about yesterday I wanted to mention. (I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to have such a wonderful conversation with him.)

But the important thing I wanted to say is that we are called to build on what our parents have built. Our parents did their best to teach us. Their goal was (and is) for us to do a little better than they did in life. Where they made mistakes they want us to succeed. What they knew about life, they tried to pass on to us. Now we are called to build on that. We should be growing and learning and striving to be better, standing on the shoulders of our parents and reaching higher.

Now with our kids we want them to be more than we are, to do better than we have done. Really for the first time Cole and I got to really talk about that. I want him to know that I am a flawed person. I am not a perfect parent and I sin against him and I sometimes parent from anger or I make mistakes. My goal is to work through that with him and encourage him to develop better self control than I have, to be more disciplined than I am. These are important skills I never really ever even thought about.

Think about it. Lack of self-control is probably THE biggest weakness a person can have. Once your emotions have been stirred up you are at your weakest. Instead of weeks or months of temptation, satan only needs to give you a bump, just a little nudge to send you over the edge.

What are areas you need to have self-control? Anger? Greed? Men, (and women) is sexual temptation something you struggle with? It only takes a situation for your emotions to be stirred and satan can give you a little bump and you jump into terrible sin.

Let's take anger for example. When your anger is stirred up, you HAVE to stop for a second and gather your thoughts. You have to settle your heart before you even speak a single word. In my job I see adults come to me like children throwing temper tantrums. They are so blinded by their emotions, they are not even capable of working through the problem. All logic is blinded by the anger. I have to do it for them. Remove the emotions and look at the basics of the problem. I have to assure them it will be OK and we will work through the problem. I then have to ask them the questions they should be able to ask themselves. What happened? How did it happen? What needs to happen now to make it right? How can we prevent it from happening again? But, because the emotions are not under control, what should be a simple problem to solve becomes world war three.

What's the source of the wild emotions? Sin. Our selfishness, our love of self, pride, insecurity.... Be upright and confident before the Lord always doing right and speaking truth, deal lovingly with others. Yes, even the hateful ones.... They are just sinful hearts with no self control. Be patient with them. Think of them as they are... Adults are just children who grew up right? Maybe no one ever taught them self-control or how to act. You can be that influence that helps them work through problems.

Mom was always saying "Go with the flow". Really good advice that has been very helpful. Especially in the sense that it implies a calm demeanor. You have heard the saying "level heads prevail". Self-control, know it, love it, live it....

Remember to build on where your parents have lifted you up. Let's go forward not backwards. No matter your age there is always time to turn. It all begins with a heart surrendered to Christ. Then read your Bible and grow and learn.... "Lifeology" is a class we should all be enrolled in. Almost no one is teaching how we should be living before God. You must seek out this wisdom. It's all right there in the Bible. Principles, commands, freedoms....you will find what you need for every one of life's situations. Good news you have the best teacher of all... The Holy Spirit will teach you as you study and seek wisdom.

Just a side note-Did you know the pastor of the nations largest congregation doesn't even study theology? Wow! These people who are leading us in churches are not even studying theological issues. As we know from scripture, that is how satan works.... feel-good, looks-right religion that is close but is not the faith that will get us to heaven. Counterfeit faith will lead you to hell. Have you examined the differences and the issues of Christianity? Can you spot a counterfeit faith... Just like a fake $20 bill will have Jackson's picture on it, a false Christianity will have Christ in it. Be VERY careful.

Crisis In Buduburam

Well what started out as a good friendship with two Liberian refugees in Buduburam has become a love for an entire group of people in a very difficult situation. Now the concern is very high since they Ghanian government is wanting the refugee camp closed and wanting the people to either go back to Liberia or become citizens of Ghana. The United Nations (UNCR) has not stepped in yet to help in this situation. Some food aid sent by them was reportedly kept by the Ghanian government and the Ghanian government substituted corn for the camp. Water is scarce, medicine is pretty much non-existent. Now "police" or armed guards have entered the camp in trucks. Anyone who is protesting the $100 offer (settlement) to leave is being arrested and carried away to an unknown location by the guards. Yesterday morning over 700 women and children were taken away. I believe through local radio reports that they are being taken to the Youth Leadership camp in Accra.

So Edward and the children of Abandon Child Ministries are trying to get back home to Liberia. Stanley is also trying to quickly get out of the camp. Problem is a bus ticket is $300 and many dangerous miles for several days. Even then there is no food for them to make the journey home. What will happen to them and how will the get home? My heart breaks for these (mostly) kind people.

There is so much corruption in African governments. No wonder groups of people can not trust each other. Only Christ can save Africa. Only if hearts are changed and all operate with motives that are submissive to Christ and work to honor and glorify His name. Instead selfishness and all kinds of unrestrained wickedness and evil have torn this continent apart causing some men to act worse than wild animals.

Please pray for them and provide a small amount to help them if you can.

Expanding Earth Theory

**I don't believe in an earth that is millions of years old, so I don't buy into this theory as it is, but I post it because it's an interesting view**

I believe that the Genesis flood had a lot to do with the dramatic changes that helped shape the Earth we live in today. Remember we trust the Bible over the theory's of man, but....

I like to view all sides of a question.... I don't believe it, but again it's a new theory I have never heard before.... Tectonic plates aren't moving, but the Earth is actually expanding....

Update 2/25/08

I have been reluctant to post just because I don't want Samuel's pictures to slide further down the page. Thanks to all who have prayed for and helped them!

I have been sporadic with emailing the Daily Prayers. I am just considering the future of it. It was started for Emma and then continued with Thad. Now that they are both well I wonder if I should continue. There are always needs to pray for and I know obviously the need for us to pray together is there, but I put way too much pressure on myself to do well with them.

When I take a day off it is soooo nice to just get to bed on time. I think as I get older and busier rest becomes more precious to me. I often feel bad because I think that means I love my rest more than I love the Lord or care about our friends and family on the prayer list. That's not the case of course.

I also need to spend more time teaching my own family. What kind of fool would I be who spends so much time trying to teach everyone else, but wouldn't even teach his own family. Then again who the heck am I to be teaching anyone! I am just a person who needs to be taught more from the Bible. I have passed along what I have learned and I will continue to pass along what I am learning here.

I am just really tired right now and feel like I should just keep to myself for a while. You know what I mean....not pressure myself to have to come up with something "spritual" every day.....It can become a trap. That's how people start to think they are more important than they are. They start "coming up" with spiritual insights. Soon it's not even Biblical. I NEVER want to let that happen.

Then again that may just be an excuse. A person walking according to the Spirit in truth shouldn't run into that kind of trouble. Then again maybe that's my problem. I need to dedicate myself more to the Lord. My reading has fallen behind and I have let other things become more important. So I guess I am just realizing I need to get back to the basics and back to my Bible.

The Christian life is a life that demands self-discipline. I have trouble with that. But I have always resolved to get better at it. I just need the Lords help.

Our faith is a journey and the road has twists and turns. I am always so happy to be around good Bible teaching. Nothing on this earth makes me happier than when I am with God's people worshiping and learning and growing in Christ. How does a person get tired and lazy with that?

That's the power of the sickness of sin! It's worse than cancer. It desires to kill you. It makes you lose your appetite for what you need the most.

When I look at "Christianity" in the USA it just makes me sick. There is SO much that is just so offensive to me. It is so far from the pure doctrines of the Bible. On the other hand I have such a strong desire to be one church. But many differences are so big, they just can't be compromised. That really makes me sad. So I get left with a sad feeling that just want to withdraw from the world and mind my own business and let them do their own thing and answer to Christ for it at the judgment. It's a funny tug of war in the mind. That's why we trust in the sovereignty of God and be faithful when opportunities to share Truth come to us.

Ever get feeling a little down? That's ok. Feel like your faith is not where it should be? That's ok too. It happens to all of us. What matters is what you do when you hit that point. Grab your Bible and start to read. Spend some quiet time with God reflecting on His blessings in your life. Pray for your needs and He will guide you according to His Word.

It's Monday, I'm tired and the flu virus has hit our house. I hope I'm not getting it!

Happy Birthday Tatum!

Love you all! Feel free to give me any feedback.

Daily Prayer 2/7/08

1 Tim 6:17-18 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. {Instruct them} to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

As Americans we are rich. I don't care how tight the money is, by the world's standard, we are all VERY rich.

If you could reduce the worlds population to 100 people, our village would look like this:

60 would be Asian, 12 Europeans, 5 American or Canadians, 8 Latin Americans, 14 Africans

51 of us would be male, 49 would be female
82 would be non-white, 18 would be white
89 would be heterosexual, 11 would be homosexual
33 would call themselves Christian, 67 would be non-Christian

5 of the American's would control over a third of our small villages money.
80 would have sub-standard housing
24 would not have electricity
67 would not be able to read!!!!

1 would have a college education
1 would have HIV

50 of us would be malnourished and one of us will soon die of starvation

33 will not have access to a safe water supply (and the Americans let the faucet run)

1 would be near death
2 would be near birth

My point is this.... This verse above is all of us. Even the poorest of us is really RICH by the worlds standards.

We must define what really matters in life....It's all perspective and as Americans we must admit we live in a land of SO much wealth our perspective has been warped. So even though some of us are rich, we think we are poor.

Be wise with your money and store up riches in heaven, not on this earth.

Why do we work so hard to hold on to what we can not keep? Instead work for the riches which are eternal and can never be taken away.

Take the words of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to heart:

Matt 6:19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
Matt 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
Matt 6:21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Father, teach us! We need You to show us that godliness leads to contentment. It's not easy but we learn it. Once content things of this world lose their value quickly. Judge us not by what we give, but what we keep back from You. Help us to understand that every dollar, every possession, every talent we have is Yours, given to us. It is temporary. We must be good stewards of what You have provided us with. Teach us....we definitely need Your help!

At the same time any money we offer back to You or for Your work, let it be in faith and in joy as an act of worship for what You have done for us on the cross. Teach us that it does not buy us favor with You or the gifts of heaven are never ever for sale, blessings can not be purchased and most importantly it can never, ever open the gates of heaven for us or any family member.

Help us to use our money wisely to further Your Gospel so others can have the blessings of a church to come together in, or have Bibles in their hands or even a very little act of kindness to show another the love of Christ.

This is a very hard thing for us, so we need Your help Lord!

I think of very very dear friends Lord in this world who have SO much less than we do here. I may never ever know their pains and struggles, but I pray they never know our entrapments of materialism!

Meet our basic needs Father and hear the world when they cry "Give us this day our daily bread!"

Thank You Lord Jesus for being the spiritual bread of eternal life! What a feast of grace is available to those who will place faith in Your work on the cross to purchase us from the penalty of sin. Those are the unmeasurable, unfathomable riches we must seek!

Lord hear our plea for Your help and wisdom! Amen.
